I think the question with Stuart Price's Thin White Duke moniker is whether we can ever get enough? The extremely talentet Price, creative genius behind my lost on a deserted island number 1 album Darkdancer, has a real ear for these insanely catchy build ups - Layering just a bit more after every chorus, just adding that snare at the right time, letting the bass drum rip when it's time! Just listen to the new Madonna album if you're not convinced.
Funny thing about his remixes is that you actually know what to get before you actually hear it. It's not like a Thin White Duke remix is going to change your world, except maybe the first you one hear, but they do pack right amount dancefloor mayhem to just keep you comming back for more. In other words, when you read the magic wording behind some title on a 12" (Thin White Duke Remix) its like getting a christmas present from your parents as a kid. You almost certainly know what it is, and you can be 100% sure that it's good! The Thin White Duke - a Distortion Disco favorite.
I totally agree...Price is one of my fave mixers. Always something tasty in each of his mixes, and they always pack my dancefloors.
I will make a suggestion tho: One of the most stupendous mixes he's ever done was Starsailor's "Four To The Floor"....Seriously, find that and post it. It's a hell of a gem.
Yeah, I have the mix already, a real classic. I think its one of my most played records - and my favorite 10"! But thank you for posting a link to it. So for those of you, who haven't got this gem, get it now! It's an order!
