Revel In Bass
As promised earlier, I'd try to post a bit more regulary here, and what better way to get back into it than a couple of Carl Craig's excellent remixes from this year.

First up is Delia Gonzales & Gavin Russom's 'Revelee'. We saw Delia & Gavin warm up for Hot Chip at Berlin's Watergate Club last January. They had about seven keyboards on stage, which looked rather awesome as they were only two on stage. The first three minutes were great, with Delia & Gavin building one gorgeous synth-figure up after the next - and ten minutes into it I was well ready for the big release... that just didn't seem to appear.
After twenty minutes of non stop constant synth-twiddling, it dawned on us that Delia & Gavin hadn't brought a single drum machine along. People were now sitting (or sleeping) on the floor and we realised that this was one of thos those"willfully difficult" performances that are made for art galleries, and promptly headed for the bar, praying to the God of Bass to deliver us from this beat-less art hell....

... a couple of months later our prayers were answered - exactly 3 minutes and 44 seconds into Carl Craigs remix of 'Revelee', where a killer kick drum is finally let loose on Delia & Gavin's synth-noodlery, turning the track into the stomping techno track it deserves to be. Not totally satisfied with his accievement, Craig also makes room for a nice bongo & piano jazz break at the end. As you do.

Second track is remix of Rhythm & Sound's 'Poor People Must Work'. Taking the lead from the dubby original, Craig's remix is as deep as it gets. At first listen nothing much happens during the almost seven minutes of the track - but turn up your speakers and the underflowing river of bass will draw you in.

Great tunes - there seems to be a problem with the Rythm & Sound one though.

The YSI link has expired, any chance of a re-up? Pretty please?
